I was frustrated over the stereotypes wearing dreadlocks illicited, and made the above transition as an attempt to confuse these before going bald. I sported this look for two weeks.

The experience taught me to recognize when people appreciate my inner qualities... Traditional fashion attracts and repels the superficial. With dreadlocks -- besides being taken always for a lazy stoner -- I was automatically adored by those fancying themselves counter-culture; as a well-groomed gentleman these same sort look upon me contemptibly without waiting to hear of my ideas. Many people are ill-at-ease if they can't decide what to think about you by your looks.
